I have been so excited for today and the chance to see 130 bloggers all participating in this great card event. I am happy to be part of something that pays tribute to this nation's heroes. Dear friends of mine have a son who had several tours of duty in Iraq and he experienced profound losses of close buddies there. The bravery that our military exhibits just amazes me and I am so grateful for each and every one of them and the sacrifices that they and their families make for us. God bless them and our country.
If you are jumping in to the hop at my blog I'd encourage you to start at the beginning.
I made two cards for the hop. The first card I made is pretty simple. I like making cards that don't take alot of time.
Supplies: Bazzill cardstock and Edges, Papertrey Star paper, Diamond Stickles, Hero Arts greeting stamp, Verve star stamp, ColorBox ink (on star)
The second one isn't my usual style -- more distress-y than usual but playing with Ranger Ink products is too much darn fun.
Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Tim Holtz grungeboard (inked up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink), Cuttlebug embossing folder
And now for the giveaway..... Something a little different than the giveaways you may be seeing on other blogs today during the hop. My sister owns a cherry products store in Traverse City, Michigan called Benjamin Twiggs. I decided to have a giveaway of some of my personal favorites from the store:
Cherryaki Marinade -- marinate some chicken in it and throw it on the grill. Yum! Cherries and Raspberries foster --- over ice cream? Oh my gosh. This is one of their top sellers. And one they can't keep in stock? Chocolate covered potato chips. I PROMISE you -- you will not believe how good this combination is. I thought these would be some nice summer treats that you would all enjoy. Simply leave a comment here and you are entered! I will draw the winner on Tuesday. UPDATE: My sister just emailed me that she added a coupon code "bloghop" to her store website. Order HERE between now and next Friday and you get 10% off! Cool! Thanks Julie!
