Look what was in my mailbox when I got home today!

This absolutely adorable birthday card from Nichol Magouirk! Is this cute?  It just made me smile.  I like how she stamped the Hero image on Bo Bunny dotted paper.  I really like the look.  Thank you so much, Nichol.  Love you!

I've missed you all! :-)

Sorry I have been away from my blog for a bit.  No particular reason except life just gets away from you sometimes.  It's all good. :-)   Just haven't been in my studio for awhile.

Remember all those simple cherry cards with Doodlebug goodies?  Well I bought some glittery stickers from them for birthdays too.   I like having cute embellishments on hand just to whip out some simple cards.  And here is a simple one:

but there are two in particular that I look forward to every year.  They are Jennifer's Christmas card and the one she makes me for my birthday.    Look what I got this year --  chock full of great Hero Arts inspiration.

Lookie lookie what I have to give away!

I am back from my trip and have absolutely no creative mojo going right now.  I'm not worried -- it will be back.   But I don't have any new cards to post.  I didn't want you to think I wasn't thinking about you all!  :-)   I found these in my mail.....

It's going to be a big week at Hero Arts

You know I love this company and their products.  I am really excited to see the new website that they are launching on Wednesday.  And the celebration starts tomorrow.   I'll be heading over there to see what's cooking for sure!  :-)

Another cherry filled day

How fun it is to see Julie's sales do so well.  Cherry shoppers are just the nicest people who come in happy.  Who can be grumpy in a cherry store?  :-) 

I had a fun surprise today.  I was in the store's back room covered in pancake mix flour (my job today was packaging cherry pancake mix).  And one of the girls told me I had a visitor up front.  Huh?  Me?   What a fun treat that Margot from Ottawa, Canada, a loyal reader of my blog had stopped in to say hi.  She had heard of the store on my blog and stopped in to check it out.   We had a nice visit.  I rarely get to meet people who are readers and it sure was fun to meet her.  And she proved out the point that crafters are just the nicest people in the world.  Thanks Margot for stopping by. 

Tomorrow is the last day of the festival.  I'm sorry to see it end.  There is something about being part of this and being around all of the cherry stuff (everywhere in town!) that makes me happy,

Checking in from the Cherry Festival

I love festivals.   Families, friends and everyone in a good mood.  Relaxed and just enjoying life.  Add everything cherry to the mix and it just gets better.  And festivals in Traverse City are great.  The weather is so comfortable and anything right on the water makes me happy. 

Here is a picture of the Benjamin Twiggs booth right on the water. Can you see the marina in the background on Traverse bay? Is that a fabulous spot or what?  They really lucked out.  Beautiful.

Yesterday my niece Sami and I worked the booth together.  What a fun day!   I love spending time with her.  I've gotten to spend some time with Alex and Shane (my nephews) too which is always enjoyable.

I won't be posting for a few days...

I decided to head north to the craziness of the Cherry Festival.  Hoping I can be some help to my sister.  They have to staff both the store and a tent down at the festival.  Sounds like she's having a ball so I'm looking forward to going up.

In honor of the National Cherry Festival....

that started yesterday in Traverse City -- SURPRISE!  A cherry card!   My sister has been keeping me in touch with what's happening in her store and business is booming.  This is her first year as the owner of a cherry products store during Cherry Festival.  She had no idea what to expect.  And she seems to be enjoying every minute.

Hmmm... maybe another way I could honor the CF is to go downstairs and get some cherries for a snack.  Kroger cherries aren't nearly as good as fresh in Michigan but, hey, it'll have to do.
