I have wanted an American flag for a long time and haven't had one in years. I just never got around to getting one. I finally got one for the 4th of July and it made me so happy to put it up. The older I get the more the flag means to me .. I get kind of choked up when I see one. (I know, I'm a sap)
I know that July 4th reminds us of parades, picnics and fireworks. I hope we will all remember what this holiday is really about as we enjoy time with family and friends. Have a wonderful 4th!

no, you're not a sap! I think our flag should evoke a sense of pride in our freedom and our country...the holiday shouldn't just be about a long weekend of eating, KWIM? Hope you have a wonderful celebration this weekend too! :)

Jana,
You are not a sap! We all should get choked up at the site of the American flag, even the immigrants who are not citizens. It stands for freedom and a whole lot more.
Have a happy 4th!

Happy 4th to you too Jana! My husband is retiring from the Army this year after having served for over 22 years. It means a lot to us too.

The flag stands for freedom. Freedom of a lot of things. Many people have lost their lives in fighting for the freedom we have. So, are you a sap??? NO, just a person that appreciates the freedom that we have! Hope you had a great 4th!

Jana
We have a flag too. It is so cool when all our neighbors put theirs out at the same time.
I hope you had a great 4th. We were very busy all weekend long.
Have a blessed week.
