I was honored when Jenn Shurkus asked me to be part of her 10th blog anniversary celebration. I have only had the chance to meet this talented crafter once and she's so nice. And her work is inspirational. You can learn more about her celebration on her blog here.
Jenn asked that we CASE one of her projects and it was hard to choose! But I found this one and loved the multi-color background.
I had fun creating an inky version on my card:
To create the background I stamped the greetings repeatedly on white cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then, using a mini-round applicator tool I applied the ink colors, allowing them to overlap for a good blend. It went on like butt-ah! Love these new Simon Says Stamp ink colors.
I stamped the Happy Birthday greeting on the die cut fishtail banner and typically I would pop that off the card with some foam tape. But I decided to inlay it instead. I took the same banner die and cut it out of the background piece. Then I adhered the background to a piece of plain white cardstock that was cut just a little wider than the background so I had a small white strip on either side. Also, having this cardstock there gave the banner something to stick to!
To finish off the card I put some fun foam behind the background so that it will mail well. Then I adhered it to the desert storm card base and DONE!
It was so fun to be part of Jenn's celebration and I hope you will visit her blog and enjoy the inspiration of other designers who are joining her to celebrate! She has some great sponsor companies and there are giveaways! See Jenn's blog for details!
