I love new release days at Simon Says Stamp. They never disappoint. You can see all of the new release products here. I was lucky enough to get to play with some sneak peek products from this release. Isn't this little wave die cute? I thought it was the perfect little thing for the cute as can be swimmy girl to stand on! Here is my card:
I created the background using an image from the Pool Play stamp set, stamped repeatedly on white cardstock using Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass ink. I wanted a subtle look and that ink worked beautifully. I stamped the girl using My Favorite Things black ink and then colored it in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut around the image. (I didn't have the dies but this set has coordinating ones that would make this a lot easier.) Then I added some accents with white pen and added some Glossy accents. Her goggles and inner tube just had to be shiny!
To make the waves and beach I die cut one of the waves from Desert Storm paper and then cut straight across to create the beach. This gave me the perfect match for the bottom of the blue pieces I would cut out. Then I die cut two more out of Sea Glass paper and applied a little Sea Glass ink to the top of the waves with a mini round ink applicator. It needed that extra dimension to make the waves stand out.
I wanted a solid sun but didn't have a stamp to make that. So I used the sun outline on the stamp set shown below and then flipped over the smiley circle and stamped with the solid back side.
