A simple card using the Simon Says Stamp Rejoice stamp set. I wanted the sentiment and cross images to speak for themselves so nothing fancy here. I find myself going to the My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripes background stamps over and over again - and I did here too.

Birthday - inspired by Laura Bassen
In the Craftsy.com class that Laura Bassen taught she did a card that was designed like this one. Of course it had happy, cheery, Laura-like colors but this is the design she created. So I modified it to be a gender neutral birthday card. The background is tone on tone embossing to give it a subtle texture.

Christ's Love card
Another card using the Rejoice Stamp set from Simon Says Stamp's Hop To It recent release. I posted a sneak peak of this and got questions about the background paper, wondering if I created it. Nope. It is patterned paper from the wonderful new My Mind's Eye patterned paper (link below). It has gorgeous gold metallic papers - really hot right now. I wish I could take a better photograph of this card. It is prettier in real life. And so easy to create.

Have Faith
That is the name of the Paper Smooches set that I used for this card. LOVE that set. I have no idea who is getting this card and for what occasion, but using these words together on a card just made sense to me. Because of Him I have all of these things -- blessings, hope and faith.
I was not confident in my ability to stamp these straight and spaced the way I wanted them so I used my MISTI tool. If you don't have one of these? GET ONE! I know, it's an investment but it is amazingly helpful. You can watch this video for more information.

Vellum shaker card - Day two Hop To It!
This is the second card I made using the new releases from the Simon Says Stamp Hop To It new release. I wanted to make a vellum shaker card like I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog so I thought that would work well with this card. To make the shaker I adhered the vellum to the underside of the cardstock piece. Then I put some thin stips of Be Creative tape along the underside edge. The sewing around the edge is just for decoration as the tape was holding everything down.

A little resist - a little stamping - a lot of fun!
So I can't tell you exactly how I did this card. If you want to know you should take the Clean & Simple 4 class at www.onlinecardclasses.com. It was a great class and it inspired this card. If you look at the close up photo you can see some background detail showing through on the stamped images. I had so much fun stamping all of the flowers and leaves. I have purchased so many inks in the past year and it's fun to be using them more these days.
