I needed a masculine sympathy card and I thought this design would work perfectly. I created the background using Perfect Pearls - a technique that is gorgeous in real life but IMPOSSIBLE to photograph!
This technique is ridiculously simple for the stunning results that you get. All you do is stamp your image with Versamark ink. Then you apply Perfect Pearls with a brush. It will only stick to the ink part. To make sure you have all of the excess off, use your brush to make a side to side sweeping motion. I did this over a coffee filter so I could put the rest back in the jar. I find that using a wider vs round brush works best.
To make sure it stays put and doesn't smudge I swiped it through a mist of water. You know how they spray perfume in the air then swipe a piece of paper through it to get a light scent so you can smell it? That's what you do. So you're not spraying directly on it -- just using a light mist to act as a fixative. I don't know if you HAVE to do this step but I always do just to be safe.
Once I was done with the background the flower image was stamped in Archival black ink. I used my MISTI so I could do it a couple of times. Then I matted it with a thin mat of black cardstock.
I stamped the greeting on the same grey cardstock and cut fish tails on the end so that it just hung over the edge. I applied 3 Hero Arts pearls as accents. Then I adhered the greeting. I created a top folding grey note card from matching cardstock and attached the card front using fun foam.

Fantastic masculine sympathy card. Love the colours your have chosen for the card base and tone on tone background panel. The silhouette image stands out beautifully and ties in with the matt black and the sentiment colour. LOVE it. Thanks so much for playing along Simon Says Stamp Make It Masculine challenge.
