I am happy to be part one of the designers representing this fun blog hop featuring holiday cards. Today we are hopping to celebrate all things fall and winter - and to rev up your holiday cardmaking motors! We are also joining Lea Lawson during her month-long Crafty Comeback Party. Lea is an amazing designer, and we are thrilled to support her! Tune into her blog every day this month - she began the party on October 7, and there have been many beautiful cards and fabulous giveaways along the way! To make this party extra fun, we invited along the fabulously talented team at A Blog Named Hero! Lots of inspiration on this hop today.
If you are hopping along you should have come from Ilina Crouse's blog. If you want to start at the beginning of the hop? Click here.
I decided to make a Christmas card today.
I rarely make round cards but they are so fun and unexpected. To make this card I stamped the Hero Arts Repeating Flower Bold Print stamp using Versamark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder. I inked up the piece using Distress Oxide Candied Apple ink and an ink applicator. When you do this be sure to use a cloth or paper towel to wipe it off so that you can remove the red ink that will collect on the white embossing.
Then I used the Hero Arts Infinity dies to cut out the circle. I used some micropore tape to secure them all at the same time. I varied the widths of the circle rings. The Infinity dies are so close together that you can adjust this to any width you want. Once I have my rings I used the largest circle die to cut the card base. I allowed the circle to hang off the fold edge of the card just a bit to make sure there is a fold on the back. Then I could adhere all of the circles.
I used the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut set to die cut the Joy using black cardstock. Then I heat embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder 3 times to make it super shiny and thick. I stamped the greeting on a black cardstock strip using Versamark and white heat embossed it. I added a few sequins. As I finishing touch I applied a little Distress Oxide around the edge of the card.
Prize: We will be giving away a $25 gift certificate, randomly chosen from all of the comments left at every stop along the blog hop. To enter, leave a comment on any of the blogs by Friday, November 10 at 11:59pst, and the winner will be announced on Lea Lawson's blog the on Sunday, November 12.
Thank you so much for stopping by. The next stop is my friend, the talented Jessica Frost-Ballas.

What a fun card. You are right about circle cards. No one expects them but I think they smile when they open the envelope and see it!
