When I was invited to be part of a blog hop celebrating Reverse Confetti and My Sweet Petunia I jumped at the chance. I love Reverse Confetti products and the MISTI, well, I couldn't craft without one anymore! I had so much fun playing with new Reverse Confetti products and I'll share some cards that simply needed the MISTI to happen.
If you are enjoying the blog hop today you arrived from the blog of the talented Heather Hoffman. If you would like to start at the beginning? Head on over to Amy Tsutura's blog.
First up I used the Reverse Confetti My Sunshine stamp set to create this card:
I stamped the stars multiple times with Reverse Confetti inks. I knew if I wanted them to be equally spaced I had to use my MISTI tool. To start I placed the cardstock in the lower right corner of the MISTI and stamped the first star (red) just a bit off the paper.
For each color I moved the cardstock one inch to the left to stamp the next image. I repeated until the row was full. I knew I was going to use a stitched rectangle die to cut it out so I didn't worry about whether it was exactly centered. I took my die cut piece and adhered it to Reverse Confetti brick cardstock to create the card front.
To create the sentiment I stamped a greeting from the Reverse Confetti Tall Blooms stamp set in Versamark ink on black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I cut a little fish tail with my scissors and popped it off the card front with foam tape. I added some sequins and did some dashed lines in white gel pen to finish the card front. Then I adhered it to a card base.
For my next card I used the Stitched Rays Cover panel.
This background die is an easy way to add texture and interest to your card. I die cut it using white cardstock and applied two colors of Distress Oxide inks. I used one color centered around the circle on the die and then went out from there with the second color. To stamp the greeting I used the MISTI. I stamped it in black ink on white cardstock. Then because I could keep it in exactly the same place I stamped it again with Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to add some shine.
I adhered the sentiment and some DMC silver thread to the card front using foam tape. Then I added some clear sequins. The card front was then adhered to a card base.
These cards came together so easily that I made a set!
My last card uses the beautiful Tall Blooms stamp set again.
I stamped the floral image multiple times using Versamark ink, leaving a center open area for the sentiment. I heat embossed them in white embossing powder. Then I used Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink to lightly cover the whole card front with ink. I wiped it gently with a dry cloth to get any residual ink off of the embossing. Then I applied a very light amount of Abandoned Coral Oxide ink around the edges. To add some additional emphasis to the flowers I picked out some Copic markers that were somewhat muted in tone and colored in parts of the images with light flicking motions. Just to add a hint of color.
To add the greeting (which in retrospect should have been silver so you could see it better), I performed some "stamp surgery" and cut the greeting from the stamp set apart so it would fit on the card. I used my MISTI to stamp it in Versamark ink and heat embossed it because I didn't trust my ability to stamp it straight on my own. The MISTI is a handy tool to have so you don't mess up a card at the very end when stamping the sentiment.
Before finishing the card I die cut the card front with a stitched rectangle die. I wanted to add a few pearls but didn't have the right color in my stash. So I took some white ones and colored them with a Copic marker using the same color I used on the flowers. This is a great trick for turning any pearl into the color you want.
So those are my projects for today. I had so much fun creating them and I hope they inspire you.
Here is the complete list of today's designers and I hope you will show them all some love on their blogs.
Loved the stitched ray cards -- beautiful and the last card that background is beautiful -- the flowers and color worked really well together! Loved it!

It's always a great idea to do multiple backgrounds when making a card. I love the vibrant colors you used.

Oh man, I completely agree that a stamp positioner is essential for any solid stamp, especially those that have small white space in the center (like those sentiment stamps). I lasted all of 3 months of stamping before getting one, and I wondered why I didn't get one before! However, I keep forgetting that I can do cool things like the slide repeat stamp of your first card. I love that look! And your final card is so gorgeous; the peach color is outstanding. Thank you so much for sharing with us!
