Thank you for joining us for the release of the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero April card kit. You may have arrived from my talented friend, Kelly Latevola's blog if you are participating in the blog hop. If you want to start at the beginning of the blog hop click here. Here is this month's kit:
The kit contains:
6" X 8" Clear stamp set
20 Coordinating Frame Cut Dies
1 Ornate Floral Border Die\
3 Reactive Ink Cubes (Fiesta Red, Fiesta Teal and Fiesta Yellow)
3 6" X 18" Sheets Unryu Paper (assorted colors)
The kit is valued at $74 but its price is an incredible $34.99!
I chose the cute donkey on the kit stamp set for my card.
I have wanted to use the new Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors and I finally did on this card. I wanted a soft, subtle background on the background. I covered Shizen watercolor paper with water using a wide brush. Then I put a few drops of three colors of the liquid into a paint palette - Dandelion, Strawberry and Mulled wine. To create the background I dipped a wet paint brush in to the watercolor and then touched it to the paper. Because it was wet it spread easily. Then I dabbed it with a paper towel to soften the colors.
I stamped the donkey using Hero Arts Intense Black ink on white cardstock. To color the image I used colored pencils and then added a little Spectrum Noir glitter pen to the decorations on the donkey. Then I fussy cut around the image. (You won't have to fussy cut - the dies come in the kit! I just didn't have them)
I stamped the greeting on the banner and fussy cut it. I cut the front panel down to 4" X 5.25" and adhered it to a folded white card base. Then I adhere the banner with adhesive and the donkey with foam tape to give it some dimension. The final touch was to add some sequins from the Hero Arts Butterfly garden sequin mix.
As usual, Hero Arts is offering a number of really fun add-on products.
Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader - selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. The giveaway closes Sunday, April 8th at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week. So be sure to show some love to all of the designers.
The main kit is available for a limited time only - once it's gone, it's gone. Kits begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday April 6th. Don't forget that you can subscribe to receive the kit each month so you never miss one!
The next stop on the blog hops Amy Tsuruta. Head on over to her blog and see what inspiration she has to share today.
Thank you for stopping by!
