What a fun collaboration between Picket Fence Studios and WOW! Embossing Powder. You should have arrived from Anna Wight's blog. If you would like to start at the beginning head on over to the WOW! blog.
I have two cards to share with you today. Embossing powder is so versatile so I thought I would use it two different ways.
For the first card I created the background using inch wide tape to mask off white stripes. Then I applied Versamark ink, directly to the paper, and heat embossed using WOW! Gold Pearl Embossing powder. Such a simple way to create a striking look. It was cut down just a bit smaller than the card using a stitched rectangle die.
To create the flowers I used the Picket Fence Studios Succulent Blossoms stamp set and coordinating dies. I applied some Worn Lipstick and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide ink to some paper and then stamped the images and die cut them. To get a bit more dimension I chose some slightly darker Copic markers and added some highlights.
To create the sentiment I used the Picket Fence Studios Small Ways to Say Thank You. I stamped thank you in black ink on white cardstock and then fussy cut it. Then I stamped the sub greeting in Versamark ink on a small strip of black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
Then I assembled the card, using some foam tape to add dimension. The final touch was some Iridescent Bubbles embellishments and adding it to a top folding card base.
For the second card I used WOW! Pastel Glacier Mint, Pastel Blue Regular and Pastel Yellow embossing powder. I used the Picket Fence Studios Gingham stamp. I cut three strips of white cardstock in graduating widths, and heat embossed each one with a different color embossing powder. To add a bit more color to them I added a little Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink to the background.
The greeting and little kitty were stamped using the Picket Fence Studios Rescued is My Favorite Breed stamp set using black ink. After die cutting the sentiment using a stitched rectangle die, and cutting the little kitty out with a circle die it was all adhered to a card base using foam tape.

I can’t believe I’ve never done direct-to-paper inking with embossing ink. The results are lovely.
