I am excited to be part of the blog hop to celebrate the release of the March My Monthly Hero kit. What a fun kit! Who doesn't need more great sentiments. I know I personally seem to collect them and I love having lots of options.
If you are hopping along you have come from the blog of my friend Laurie Willison. If you want to start at the beginning of the hop you can find it here.
This month's kit is a great one.
Kit Contents:
6" x 8" Clear Stamp Set
4 Fancy Word Dies
7 Fancy Shape Dies
4 8.5" x 5.5" Sheets Basic Kraft Cardstock (80 lb cover)
4 8.5" x 5.5" Sheets Basic White Cardstock (80 lb cover)
4 8.5" x 5.5" Sheets Basic Black Cardstock (80 lb cover)
Sparkly Sequins 1.5 oz
Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder 0.5 oz
Unicorn White Ink Cube
This kit is a great value as always. The value of the kit is $70, but it is sold at $34.99.
For my card I used the Hi Friend sentiment from the kit.
This is a really bright card for me! To create the focal point I used an ink applicator to ink blend Hero Arts Lime Green and Tide Pool ink on white cardstock. Then I used the Hero Arts Nesting Oval Infinity dies to cut an oval. The greeting was stamped using Versamark ink and then heat embossed using Hero Arts white embossing powder.
I wanted the oval piece to look like it was made of enamel. So I covered it with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Hero Arts clear embossing powder. I did this three times to give it a smooth thick look.
I stamped the sun from the kit using Hero Arts Lemon Yellow ink and fussy cut it out. Then I drew the face on it with a thin black pen. I adhered it to the oval piece with foam tape and added a little sparkle to the outside ring of the sun with my Spectrum Noir glitter pen.
To finish the oval piece I die cut an oval with white cardstock and one using paper from the Pool Mix Layering papers. I adhered the inked oval to the white one with foam tape and then adhered the white to the blue. I used a white gel pen to add some dashed lines.
To finish the card I used the Nesting Rectangle Infinity Dies to die cut the remaining pieces. The white piece was just a bit bigger then the oval piece. Using Lime Green ink I used the Every Which Way stencil from this month's add-ons to add a bit of ink to the background. (It is subtle and hard to see in the photograph).
There are many great add-on products being released today today too and you can get them all here at a discounted price, or buy them individually.
If you want to be sure you never miss a kit, you can subscribe here. They are limited edition and tend to sell out quickly so subscribing is a great idea. Purchases made today will begin shipping this Friday, March 9th.
Now let's talk about the really fun part - the giveaway! Hero Arts is giving away one kit as a prize to one blog reader - selected from the comments across all of the blogs in the hop. (They will reimburse you if you have already bought the kit). The giveaway closes Sunday, March 1th at 11:59pm, and the winner will be announced the following week.
The next stop in today's hop is the uber talented Clare Prezzia. Thank you so much for joining us today and enjoy the hop!
Great fun card with those lovely colors - enjoying this Hero ARts hop and all the wonderful designers creations - TFS

Great colors. I like how a lot of the elements get dimension from the various die cut pieces.
